1. Overview

No account, local-first

ReMemory AI keeps your study material on your phone. There is no sign-up and no account. The questions you photograph, the notes, drawings and voice recordings you add, your review history and your statistics are stored only on your device, unless you turn on the optional Google Drive backup, which keeps a copy in your own Google Drive, or share a question or deck with a link, which uploads only that question or deck to our server for 30 days (Section 9). Our server receives nothing else, and we have no way to reach your collection.

There is one exception, and Section 5 explains it in full: the optional AI features send question text, and on request a question photo, to Google's Gemini service so it can suggest a subject or explain the question.

The free version also shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects the device and usage data described in Section 7. AdMob never receives your questions, photos, notes or study history.

2. Information We Collect

We collect a small amount of data. Apart from AI requests (Section 5), none of it contains your questions or notes:

Usage eventsUnderstanding which features are used. They also show the exam you chose, a rough range of how many questions you have saved (such as 5–19), whether notifications are on and whether you have Pro, but never the questions themselvesAnonymous installation ID

If you tap Support in Settings, ReMemory opens your own email app with the app version, your device model and your Android version already written into the message. Nothing is sent until you press send, and you can edit or delete any of it first.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

Never collected by us

4. On-Device Processing

Runs on your phone

5. AI Features (Google Gemini)

When AI features are available in your region and version of the app, ReMemory uses Google's Gemini API through Firebase AI Logic. Two different things can be sent, and they are sent at different times.

Sent automatically
Sent only when you ask

These requests carry no account, name or email. The answers are saved on your device next to the question, labelled as AI content, and the app asks you to check them against your own photo.

Every AI answer has a Report button. A report sends only the reason you pick, the kind of answer, the model's name and the app's language, through Google Analytics for Firebase. The question and the answer itself are never sent, and the reported answer is removed from the question on your device.

Google processes these requests under the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service. Google may use the text and photos you send, and the responses, to provide, improve and develop its products and machine-learning technologies, and human reviewers may read them after they are disconnected from any account or API key. If you are in the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the United Kingdom, Google does not use them to improve its products.

Do not photograph anything personal or confidential, such as a page carrying your name, student number or other personal details. Crop the page before saving it, or do not use the AI features.

6. Third-Party Services

ReMemory uses the following services, each with its own privacy policy:

Service providers

See the Google Privacy Policy, the Firebase privacy information, the RevenueCat Privacy Policy and the Meta Privacy Policy.

7. Ads in the Feed, and How We Measure Our Own Ads

The free version of ReMemory shows ads in the Feed: an ad card between questions, clearly labelled as an ad, and, only if you choose to watch it, a video ad that unlocks more questions. ReMemory Pro shows no ads. The ads come from Google AdMob. To choose, show and measure ads and to prevent ad fraud, AdMob collects your device's Advertising ID and app set ID, your IP address (from which it can estimate an approximate location), how you interact with the ads, and diagnostic information about the app. Your questions, photos, notes and study history are never shared with AdMob. Ad content is limited to the PG rating.

In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks before your data is used for ads; you can change or withdraw your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy settings. Elsewhere, Google may personalise ads using the Advertising ID. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your Android settings (Google → Ads, or Privacy → Ads). Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy; see also how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Your usage statistics (Section 2) are not used for advertising: Google Analytics for Firebase does not collect the Advertising ID.

We do advertise ReMemory on Facebook and Instagram. To learn whether those ads lead to installs, the app includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK. It sends Meta an event when the app is installed and when it is opened, together with the device model, Android version, language and time zone, the app version, and an anonymous identifier the SDK generates on your phone. Google Play also hands the app an install referrer, a short code that can show the install came from a Meta ad, and the SDK passes it on. If the Facebook app is installed on your phone, the SDK can read an attribution identifier that app provides, so Meta can match the install to the ad it showed. No question content, no name, no email and no Advertising ID are ever sent.

When you subscribe to ReMemory Pro, RevenueCat may pass an anonymous purchase event, carrying the same anonymous identifier, to Meta so we can see which ads lead to subscriptions. No payment details, name or email are included.

Meta processes these events under its Business Tools Terms and its Privacy Policy. We use them only to measure and improve our own advertising. You can limit how Meta uses data it receives from apps in your Facebook or Instagram settings, under Activity off Meta technologies. Uninstalling ReMemory stops the events.

We also advertise on Google. If we connect our Google Ads account to Firebase, Google may use the anonymous install and usage statistics described in Section 2 to report which of our ads led to installs. Firebase Analytics does not read the Advertising ID, and these statistics are not used to personalise ads to you.

8. Purchases & Subscriptions

ReMemory offers an optional subscription, ReMemory Pro. All payments are processed by Google Play Billing; we never see or store your payment card details.

To activate and restore your subscription, purchase receipts are validated by RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.), which receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and Google Play purchase tokens. No name, email or payment details are shared with RevenueCat. So that your purchases can be found again after you reinstall the app or move to a new phone, RevenueCat may save this anonymous identifier using Google Block Store.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel at any time in Google Play > Subscriptions. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy.

9. Sharing, Exporting & Backups

Only when you choose

ReMemory never uploads your collection to us. Only a question or deck you share with a link leaves your phone for our server; everything else you move out of the app yourself:

ReMemory's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

10. Storage, Retention & Deletion

Your questions, photos, notes and history are stored locally on your device, inside the app's private storage. Data we receive from the services in Section 6 is sent over encrypted connections.

11. Your Choices

12. Children's Privacy

ReMemory is a study app for exam students and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the app with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will help remove it.

13. International Data Transfers

Crash reports, analytics, performance measurements, AI requests, ad requests and install and app-open events, Drive backups if you turn them on, and questions or decks you share with a link, may be processed or stored on servers outside your country of residence, operated by Google, Meta, RevenueCat and Cloudflare. These transfers are carried out under those providers' safeguards and applicable data protection law.

14. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and Turkey's KVKK, you may have the right to:

Because your study material never leaves your device except as described above, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app. For anything else, contact us.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes are announced through app updates, and the date at the top of this page changes with each revision.
